VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) is a great way to make and receive business calls over your BT Business Broadband connection using either a normal telephone or feature rich IP phone. Only a small amount of your broadband bandwidth is used for VoIP but you’ll get:

When you make a VoIP call, your voice is transmitted across the internet just like any business file or email. Use your VoIP line in the same way as standard phone lines for great quality and value for money calls.

Using business VoIP is easy

Most standard phones will work with BT Business Broadband Voice, however why not get the benefit of our feature rich, fully configured Falcon IP phone? - You just plug it into your router and off you go. Unlike similar services from other VoIP providers, you

won’t have to buy credit upfront to make these calls, with 500 free UK minutes coming as standard every month. We’ll just send you a bill for any chargeable calls you’ve made or for the unlimited calling package should you choose to take it.

You can subscribe to either one or two Business Broadband Voice lines, each with your local geographic area number as standard. However, for a small monthly fee you could also allocate a different geographic area code to your VoIP line.

* Unlimited* subject to BT’s Fair Use Policy - Customers are entitled to 5000 minutes in any combination of inland and IDD calls and 300 f2m minutes. If a customer breaches either of these rules (or both at the same time) they will be charged for additional calls at OP rates. NB: if they breach 300 f2m but have only used 1000 inland and IDD minutes in total we would charge for the f2m but the inland/IDD would still come out of the Unlimited bundle until 5000 was reached. Likewise, if they breach 5000 inland and IDD minutes but have not yet reached 300 f2m we would charge for additional inland and IDD calls that month but the f2m would still come out of the bundle until 300 was reached.
1. A set up fee of 3p or 9p applies to international calls, plus pence per minute charging until cap is reached on calls of up to an hour. See ‘Calling plans and rates’ page for full rates.
2. Applies to calls to number ranges owned by the four main operators only. Certain mobile numbers (e.g. original 3G number) excluded. Pence per minute rates apply once the total number of capped calls from any one line to a single number exceeds an average of 4 hours per day in any calendar month. You will not be able to call non-BT Directory enquiries, Operator calls. Pence per minute rates apply after 60 minutes.
3. Applies to calls over the internet of up to an hour to numbers beginning 01 and 02, excluding the Channel Islands and dial-up internet services. After one hour, calls will be charged at 2.6p per minute (ex VAT).
